Nothing else we do in the course of a day or project takes precedence over Health, Safety & Environmental considerations. This mindset is reinforced with our employees through both daily and monthly discussions on safe work practices. In addition, all members of our leadership team perform best safety practices at all times, leading by example. We have implemented extensive employee training and mentoring programs in order to fine tune best practices and procedures and allow for constant improvement. We view these measures as the only path to long term success as a company.

Safety starts with understanding, communication and awareness. Clearly defined roles and responsibilities are vital for determining how and what information is communicated through our organization. Clearly outlined responsibilities help management & supervisors determine what is required training for employees and how to best deliver it. This allows employees to focus on their work safely, ultimately leading to supporting our goal of "no one gets hurt", resulting in a more effective and productive workforce.

This designation recognizes our efforts in successfully developing and implementing an audited Health and Safety Management System that meets and exceeds approved industry standards. Westech Drilling is ISNetworld, ComplyWorks and CQ Network listed, allowing our clients the ability to efficiently ensure we are adhering to their individual policies and procedures in addition to regulatory standards.

HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Westech Drilling Corp. is committed to the health and safety of its employees and others who are involved in our projects. Our philosophy is that the success of our company and clients is dependent on the health & safety of our workforce. The President promises that every precaution reasonable in all circumstances will be taken to ensure the protection of workers. No job is to be considered so urgent that time cannot be taken to perform it in a safe manner.

Management is responsible for making sure effective administration, education and training is carried out to protect our employees from injury and occupational disease. Communication plays an important role in continuing to improve on how we do our work and everyone is responsible for reporting ‘near misses’ so that we can reduce the risk of injuries.

Managers & Supervisors are responsible for the health and safety of workers under their supervision and for ensuring that adequate on-the-job training has occurred. Supervisors are to ensure that machinery and equipment required for use by each worker is safe and that each worker works in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.

Westech recognizes the rights of workers to work in a safe and healthy environment. This work environment can only be established and sustained through a united effort by the employer, employees, and subcontractors. Workers have an obligation and the right to refuse unsafe work. Your attitude and cooperation in promoting accident prevention will assist in achieving our goal: “no one gets hurt”. The President, Managers, Supervisors, Employees and Subcontractors must protect their own and fellow workers’ health and safety by working in compliance with the Workers Compensation Act and all applicable health & safety regulations, standards and codes including safe work practices and procedures established by our company.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Westech Drilling Corp. (Westech) is committed to providing a quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimizes our potential impact on the environment. We will operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and we will strive to use pollution prevention and environmental best practices in all we do.

We will:

1. integrate the consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into all of our decision making and activities,
2. promote environmental awareness among our employees and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner
3. train, educate and inform our employees about environmental issues that may affect their work,
4. reduce waste through re-use and recycling such as using waste oil for heating and by purchasing recycled, recyclable or refurbished products and materials where these alternatives are available, economical and suitable,
5. promote efficient use of materials and resources throughout our facility and projects including water, electricity, raw materials and other resources, particularly those that are non-renewable,
6. avoid unnecessary use of hazardous materials and products, seek substitutions when feasible, and take all reasonable steps to protect human health and the environment when such materials must be used, stored and disposed of,
7. purchase and use environmentally responsible products accordingly,
8. develop and maintain appropriate emergency and spill response kits and programs,
9. communicate our environmental commitment to clients, customers and the public and encourage them to support it,
10. strive to continually improve our environmental performance and minimize the social impact and damage of activities by periodically reviewing our environmental policy in light of our current and planned future activities, and
11. report all environmental releases to the appropriate parties immediately.

All Westech employees will follow our company safety, health and environment program manual and the WCB’s Act and Regulations applicable to the jurisdiction in which we are conducting our business.
